ANNA CHAGOWSKA y PETER
Warshaw / Poland
*Ania* and *Piotr* are two top-class professional dancers, with very different backgrounds, who have forged a bond over their shared passion for Salsa. A year ago they decided to combine their experience in Ballroom, Conteporary and Afro to create an inspiringly original piece of work. Their stunnigly beautiful show debuted at Berlin Salsa Congress to a standing ovation. Ania and Piotr's remarkable musicality, technical ability and interpretive skills will leave any audience spellbound and asking for more.
*Ania Chagowska *is one of the few New Generation all-round female "Instructor, Performer and Choreographer" icons in the Salsa scene today. Having professionally trained from a young age in various dance forms she was able to get solid foundations to prepare her for what was to come. Her passion and love for Latin music changed the way she perceived dance, suddenly becoming a lifestyle.
Ania launched her international Salsa career after partnering world renown performing artists such as Neeraj Maskara (2005) and later Tamambo (2008), performing breath-taking preformances over the years, further contributing to her success as a solo artist.
Ania specialises in Contemporary influenced Ladies Styling footwork and body movement. She is as well one of the few female instructors that can actually teach "executable" Ladies Styling in partnerwork. Also, her application of technique encourages the ladies to understand their own bodies and be in control of it even when the man is leading. This methodical approach to Salsa has fast made Ania Chagowska the new "Must Have" name in Salsa today.
*Piotr Kiszka* is an accomplished ballroom dancer. He has been awarded the highest class, "S", in Latin Dance and class "A" in Standard Ballroom Dance. He spent 4 years dancing in a Latin Formation Team, TAKT, from Chelm. During that period, the team won national championships several times and reached the 5th place at the World Latin Formation Championships.
In 2002, Piotr opened his own dance school, MERENGUE. He was then invited to join the cast of the Polish edition of Strictly Come Dancing. He competed during the 3rd and the 4th season of the show, finishing 4th in the third season. At the same time, he took classes and workshops with the world's leading salsa dancers. His primary mentors and influences included Przemyslaw Wereszczynski, Frankie Martinez, Franklin Diaz, Dunham Technique Ned Williams Jr., Dunham Technique Craig Joseph and Ruud Vermeij.
It wasn't long before success on the salsa scene came along. In 2010 Piotr won Polish IDO salsa championships and in 2011 he became Polish IDO salsa vice-champion in couples division and world IDO salsa champion in solo shines. He is also a dancer in Przemek Wereszczynski's salsa spectacles, "Roots" and "Roots II".
